dog or cat equals seven human years is a myth. The actual age of a dog in human
years depends on the size of the dog, and the actual age of a cat is
equivalent to the Small Breed figures in the chart above.
Medium and large breed dogs are generally considered to have moved into the
senior phase of their life at around seven years old, giant breeds at around
five years of age and small breeds, as well as cats, reach the senior lifestage at around ten
years of age.
